Our doctrine is “Reformed”: a reference to the Bible doctrines rediscovered at the time of the Reformation in Europe. The shape of our church is Presbyterian. This means that each congregation elects their office bearers (Elders) & minister to pastor them as was the case in the churches of the New Testament. These Elders form a court of the church called the Kirk Session. Elders and ministers from local churches come together to form a Presbytery, who in turn are under the highest court which is the General Assembly of the Church of Scotland. We trace our history from the Church that was formed at the Scottish Reformation of 1560.
